Mattress cleaning — dust mites, allergens, stains.
Steam extraction removes dust mites, their waste (the primary indoor allergen for many people), dead skin, and stains down through the fabric layer. Cleaned in place. Ready for sleep by next morning.
Why professional mattress cleaning matters
The average mattress accumulates 10 pounds of dead skin cells and up to 10 million dust mites over its lifetime. Dust mite waste is the #1 indoor allergen for many allergy sufferers. Vacuuming removes surface debris but not the embedded biology. Steam at 200°F+ kills dust mites and their eggs on contact, then extraction pulls it all out.
Frequency
Every 6–12 months for most homes. Every 3–6 months for allergy or asthma sufferers. Every 3 months if a household member has a diagnosed dust mite allergy. Also clean immediately after any spill, illness in the household, or bedbug treatment.
Process
Full HEPA vacuum. Spot pre-treatment on visible stains. Steam extraction across the whole surface. Optional anti-microbial spray for households with allergy concerns. Cleaned in-place — no removal needed.
Flat-rate, no surprises.

DIY vs. alternative vs. Connor’s.
Vacuuming and baking soda are hygiene theater. Steam extraction is what actually reaches embedded dust mites and allergens.
| DIY / home product | Vacuum + baking soda | Connor’s Cleaning | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dust mite kill | Surface disturbance | Deodorizes but doesn’t kill mites | 200°F+ steam kills mites + eggs |
| Allergen extraction | ~10% of surface | Absorbs some odor | Deep steam extraction |
| Stain removal | Not possible | Mild spot help | Spot pre-treatment + steam |
| Dry time | Immediate (no moisture) | Immediate | Next-morning sleep-ready |
| Frequency needed | Weekly vacuuming needed | Monthly | Every 6–12 months |

What clients ask.
How long until we can sleep on it?
Next morning is safe with normal airflow overnight. Same-day is possible with air movers — ask us to bring them.
Will you get pet urine or bedwetting stains out?
Fresh, usually yes. Set-in that has soaked into the interior foam layer, sometimes not — we’ll UV-scan and be honest. Bed encasements are cheap insurance for households with young kids or pets.
Do you remove the mattress?
No — cleaning is in-place on the bed frame. We recommend removing sheets and mattress protector before we arrive.
