General carpet cleaning — the full-home reset.
Recurring maintenance carpet cleaning for luxury residences across OC + LA. Deep vacuum, spot pre-treatment, hot-water extraction, and post-clean deodorization. The version most homes actually need.
What’s included
Every general carpet clean starts with a HEPA-filter deep vacuum to remove surface dust and grit. Visible spots and high-traffic zones get pre-treated with fabric-safe solutions and appropriate dwell time. Hot-water extraction removes embedded soil. Post-clean groom restores fiber texture. Optional deodorizing spray finishes the visit. Same standard, every clean.
When general cleaning is enough vs when you need more
General cleaning maintains a clean baseline once it’s established. If your carpets have never had a professional clean, or if it’s been over 18 months, we recommend starting with steam cleaning (HWE) first, then setting up general cleaning on a maintenance interval. For visible pet stains or heavy soiling, add pet stain treatment as a separate line item.
Recommended cadence
Once a year for most homes. Twice a year for households with pets, kids under 5, or coastal salt exposure. Add general cleaning after any large event (party, holidays) or before a listing showing.
Flat-rate, no surprises.

DIY vs. alternative vs. Connor’s.
Shampooers foam it up and vacuum it out — but residue and lack of fiber-specific process means DIY clean fades fast.
| Grocery-store product | Grocery-store shampooer | Connor’s Cleaning | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fiber-specific solution | One-size-fits-all foam | Same product for wool + synthetic | Fiber ID + matched solution |
| Residue after clean | Sticky film attracts dirt fast | Depends on brand | Rinse-extracted — no residue |
| Traffic-zone pre-treat | Not included | Extra product cost | Included in every clean |
| Post-clean grooming | No | No | Fiber grooming + optional deodorize |
| Repeat frequency needed | Every 3–4 months | Every 4–6 months | Once a year holds baseline |

What clients ask.
What’s the difference between general cleaning and steam cleaning?
Steam cleaning (HWE) is the deep-reset job. General cleaning is the maintenance visit that follows — includes HWE but shorter dwell time, targeted at holding the baseline rather than resetting it.
Do you clean synthetic and wool carpets differently?
Yes. Synthetic (nylon, polyester, olefin) tolerates hot water and standard solutions. Wool needs cooler water and pH-neutral wool-safe solutions. We identify the fiber before we start.
Can you clean around furniture?
Yes. Standard scope cleans visible traffic areas. If you want under-furniture cleaning, we’ll move light pieces and note anything we won’t move (pianos, safes, heavy antiques) during walk-through.
